Jennifer Behr Spring 2014

So far Fashion Week has been underwhelming. It’s so depressing. Until I saw Jennifer Behr’s collection of headpieces. I’ve never heard of this designer and now I’m in ~love~! I have super curly hair so wearing any of these would end in an emergency pixie cut, but I still love them.

I love these so much. $500 seems like a good deal for an instant princess kit. My husband doesn’t agree…yet. Check out the rest of her collection including a whole bridal line here.

It’s My Look

Looking back at my time in San Antonio, I can’t help but feel like I never really fit in anywhere. I made plenty of friends and some friends I will stay close with all my life. I never really found a group I did well with. I went out with plenty of groups and had a great time, but I never had a go-to group of friends for weekends. That’s mostly my fault though. There was no shortage of friendly people here. I spent time with several groups of people I would have been happy to be a part of. I just never…did.

One of my biggest regrets here in San Antonio is not really letting my personality shine to everyone. I know WHY I did that, but I don’t want to do it anymore. Dallas is a great opportunity for me to not only return home but return home as a grown-up me. That could mean displaying life lessons and a new-found maturity or… a makeover! I don’t know about you, but I’ll take any excuse for a makeover.

Here is my thought. I think I’ll stick with my usual somewhat neutral makeup. I usually wear shimmery neutrals with black eyeliner and mascara and a pink or a sheer natural red on my lips. My fashion wardrobe is a major work in progress. I’m thinking I need to return to my roots. My hair (Get it! It’s a PUN!). I love my hair. Not to brag, but I have the best hair in San Antonio and I love to show it off. I have approximately a million hair accessories and I’m ready to bring them back.

Without further ado (and tangents) here’s my grown-up hair accessories wish list with insightful comments on each image! Click on an image to get the gallery started.

** I feel like I should add that I have very curly, long hair.**

I dare you to look at the last image without doing this.

Alberta Ferretti 2013 Fall NYFW

I’ve never heart of Alberta Ferretti before, but I’m now a devotee. I’m loving her feminine flair for this Fall.

The standout piece to me is the gorgeous dark blue velvet dress. I cannot get over the detailing in the skirt. The pattern is so Art Deco.

Which look are you loving?

Oscar de la Renta 2013 Fall NYFW

I’m absolutely loving Oscar de la Renta’s 2013 Fall line.

The two ball gowns are made for a princess. Who else could pull those off? If Cinderella ended up in 2013 due to some horrible time experiment gone wrong, she would wear that blue Oscar de la Renta to the ball. And Prince Charming would have never forgotten what she looked like.

The real showstopper is the embroidered black dress. That would look amazing on the red carpet.

EDITED: Valentino Spring 2013

It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day is the best holiday because you can be relentlessly girly and happy and no one can say anything. Hearts and glitter and lace and pink EVERYWHERE. I was reading Honestly…WTF and realized obviously Valentino and I are soul mates. I’m basing this entirely off of the Spring 2013 collection.

Imagine showing up to your Valentine’s Day dinner wearing this.

He’s done for. Taylor Swift should buy this immediately.

Do you plan out your Valentine’s Day outfit?

This will come as no surprise to those of you who  know me well. I tend to get obsessive over silly things. Books. Cats. Marine Animal Trivia. It’s a serious problem. Thanks to this amazing article by Hannah from, I’m ready to announce my not-so-secret obsession to the world (all 10 of you) .  I have a perfume problem. It’s very important!. You have to match your perfume to your mood, the season even your outfit. Would you wear Miss Dior to a concert? I didn’t think so.

So here’s the part when I do the same thing I do with every other obsession: babble constantly about it. I’ve got more perfume than I care to admit in my collection. Here’s a highlight of my very favorite scents and my unreasonable attachment to each.

1. Miss Dior by Dior

Look at the bottle! LOOK AT THE BOTTLE! Isn’t that enough? The ultra chic silver bow is the most adorable accent to the simple bottle. It’s so classy you should put it on your mantle. And as an added bonus, it smells good. It’s carefree and girly. This is the scent you should wear when you’re running through a field covered in butterflies. It’s a subtle citrus with vanilla and jasmine. The citrus fades quickly and leaves behind a beautiful innocent scent. This was also the first major gift Marc gave me as my husband. I realize I could interpret this as “now that we’re married you can’t smell bad anymore. ” I asked very specifically for this perfume. He not only listened to my constant talking about this scent, he bought the perfect Dior gift for me. It was really thoughtful and I feel newlywed happiness every time I wear it.

2. L De Lolita by Lolita Lempicka

Don’t be fooled by the bottle. This smells nothing like the ocean at all. It has this deep ginger, orange, amber scent. This perfume stays like nothing else. More than two sprays and you’ll smell like a Yankee candle store. If I were to ever pick a signature scent, this would be it. I almost never wear this during the summer or spring.

3. Juicy Couture and Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture

Juicy Couture PerfumeViva La Juicy

These are my go-to scents. Juicy Couture is a bit more powdery and floral so I wear that one more in Spring. Viva La Juicy is berries, mandarin and honeysuckle so it’s best for Summer. I will pretty much buy anything with a honeysuckle scent. Anything. These aren’t the most sophisticated or unique perfumes but they are my everyday.

Because I clearly don’t have enough perfume I really want another. I have my heart set on Chloe.

Chloe Perfume

Once upon a time I fell in love with Chloe Rosebud. Then it went out of season and I have non-buyer’s remorse. It’s probably an illness. No perfume could possibly live up to my expectations of a rose scent. Except Chloe Rosebud. Since the object of my affection is no longer available I’ll have to settle with the amazing Chloe. Worth $65? I’m not sure yet.
