This will come as no surprise to those of you who  know me well. I tend to get obsessive over silly things. Books. Cats. Marine Animal Trivia. It’s a serious problem. Thanks to this amazing article by Hannah from xojane.com, I’m ready to announce my not-so-secret obsession to the world (all 10 of you) .  I have a perfume problem. It’s very important!. You have to match your perfume to your mood, the season even your outfit. Would you wear Miss Dior to a concert? I didn’t think so.

So here’s the part when I do the same thing I do with every other obsession: babble constantly about it. I’ve got more perfume than I care to admit in my collection. Here’s a highlight of my very favorite scents and my unreasonable attachment to each.

Look at the bottle! LOOK AT THE BOTTLE! Isn’t that enough? The ultra chic silver bow is the most adorable accent to the simple bottle. It’s so classy you should put it on your mantle. And as an added bonus, it smells good. It’s carefree and girly. This is the scent you should wear when you’re running through a field covered in butterflies. It’s a subtle citrus with vanilla and jasmine. The citrus fades quickly and leaves behind a beautiful innocent scent. This was also the first major gift Marc gave me as my husband. I realize I could interpret this as “now that we’re married you can’t smell bad anymore. ” I asked very specifically for this perfume. He not only listened to my constant talking about this scent, he bought the perfect Dior gift for me. It was really thoughtful and I feel newlywed happiness every time I wear it.

2. L De Lolita by Lolita Lempicka

Don’t be fooled by the bottle. This smells nothing like the ocean at all. It has this deep ginger, orange, amber scent. This perfume stays like nothing else. More than two sprays and you’ll smell like a Yankee candle store. If I were to ever pick a signature scent, this would be it. I almost never wear this during the summer or spring.

3. Juicy Couture and Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture

These are my go-to scents. Juicy Couture is a bit more powdery and floral so I wear that one more in Spring. Viva La Juicy is berries, mandarin and honeysuckle so it’s best for Summer. I will pretty much buy anything with a honeysuckle scent. Anything. These aren’t the most sophisticated or unique perfumes but they are my everyday.

Because I clearly don’t have enough perfume I really want another. I have my heart set on Chloe.

Chloe Perfume

Once upon a time I fell in love with Chloe Rosebud. Then it went out of season and I have non-buyer’s remorse. It’s probably an illness. No perfume could possibly live up to my expectations of a rose scent. Except Chloe Rosebud. Since the object of my affection is no longer available I’ll have to settle with the amazing Chloe. Worth $65? I’m not sure yet.
